What You Get
Everything Included in One Service Call

Superior Service has handled commercial refrigeration repair in San Diego since 1980. We run fully stocked service trucks with compressors, TXVs, evaporator fan motors, and contactors for Turbo Air, True, Beverage-Air, Delfield, and Hussmann units. Our techs average 15+ years in the field and carry refrigerant recovery equipment, leak detectors, and digital manifolds on every call. Whether it's a reach-in at your Mission Valley café or a six-door walk-in at a Gaslamp steakhouse, we diagnose fast and repair right the first time.

Common failures we see daily: compressor overload tripping on True T-49 and T-72 models, evaporator coil icing due to failed defrost timers, and door gasket leaks on high-use prep tables. We stock start components, run capacitors, and thermostatic expansion valves for most commercial brands. Our trucks carry 404A, R-134a, and R-290 refrigerant. We also handle controller failures on Dixell and Danfoss digital units, and we've seen plenty of fan motor burnouts on coastal installs from salt air corrosion.

The Math

Average combi oven repair: $400–$800. Average day of lost revenue with a down unit: $500–$2,000. Getting it fixed today instead of waiting 2 days for the manufacturer pays for itself before we leave the parking lot.

Common Questions
What Operators Ask Before They Call
How fast can you reach San Diego?
We typically arrive in under two hours for emergency calls across central San Diego, including Gaslamp, Mission Valley, North Park, and Hillcrest. La Jolla, Point Loma, and coastal zones usually see us within 2.5 hours. South Bay cities like Chula Vista and National City are about the same. We dispatch from our Orange County hub with trucks pre-positioned based on daily call volume, and we prioritize walk-in cooler failures and multi-door reach-in breakdowns that threaten product loss.
What commercial refrigeration brands do you service?
We service True, Turbo Air, Beverage-Air, Delfield, Hussmann, Master-Bilt, Kolpak, AmeriKooler, U-Line, and Traulsen. Our trucks stock compressors and TXVs for True T-series and Turbo Air TSR and TGF models, evaporator fan motors for Beverage-Air UCR and HBR units, and control boards for Dixell and LAE controllers. We also carry door gaskets, hinges, and thermostats for most walk-in and reach-in models. If it keeps food cold in a commercial kitchen, we fix it.
Why is my walk-in cooler icing up but not staying cold?
Ninety percent of the time it's a defrost issue. Either your defrost timer is stuck, your defrost heater element is burned out, or the defrost termination thermostat has failed. Ice builds up on the evaporator coil, blocks airflow, and your box can't pull heat. We see this constantly on older True and Kolpak walk-ins. Sometimes it's a stuck TXV flooding refrigerant back. We test defrost circuits with a multimeter, check superheat and subcooling, and replace the failed component same visit.
